Have you ever wondered what to make your family on a Saturday morning? Have you also wondered what you could make quickly, without much effort, and with only a few ingredients on hand? If so, this German pancake recipe (AKA Dutch Babies) is perfect for you!

My husband raves every time the subject of Dutch Babies is brought up. The four ingredient puffy treats are a staple in our house and a favorite of his family's back in Montana.

The simplicity of the recipe is what makes these breakfast gems stand out to me. You only need butter, milk, eggs, and flour. That is it! You can of course top them with a fruit of choice or syrup; but they are also great when eaten plain.

I hope you enjoy the ease of this recipe and the delicate buttery taste of the final result! One warning is that your family will start asking for them over and over; but have no fear since they are so easy to make again and again!

Mrs. Brenda’s Dutch Babies (German Pancakes)

4 tbsp butter

4 eggs

1 cup milk (non-dairy milk also works)

1 cup flour

2 loaf pans

Preheat oven to 425°F. Place 2 tablespoons of butter in each of your loaf pans, then put loaf pans in oven until butter is melted. In a large bowl or blender, beat eggs until fluffy; then add milk & flour (sifted if possible). Pour half the batter into each of your loaf pans and bake 20-22 minutes. Serve with your favorite topping ‒ ours is peaches!
