After spending two months decorating the rest of my house, I finally ended up in the master bedroom. When one enters the house, one does not see the master bedroom. Thus, my delay. I focused on making our new home homey for guests but I have now taken my efforts to the room we actually rest in. I know my bedroom should have been a priority; but who cares, now it is. So let's get to the decorations!

My theme for this house is relaxed-yet-vibrant-bohemian. I have attempted to dress the house in blush, orange, yellow, red, and purple decor; and I have loved the results. Now taking this to the bedroom, I have added even more gold that I had intended.

Our house walls are white, white, and white, so the color comes in with the decorations. My husband kindly installed brushed gold curtain rods and hung up my "coral" blackout curtains that appear to be plain old pink. Who cares though, why not have pink curtains if your husband doesn't mind. Right?

To these pink curtains, I attached a string of Opalhouse puff balls and wooden beads, which I absolutely love! I have attempted to wear them but have not yet mustered the courage to done them outside of the house. Let me just say that if you need a pick me up, spend the $12 and get yourself some puffballs on a string! You will be like a cat with a string. Fluffy object!!! Just trust me, they will brighten anyone's day.

Our loveseat was gifted to us by my grandmother, and it sits in our cat-free bedroom as a family heirloom. I've set my favorite velvet fushia pillow on top of it, and I say it looks regal. Top that off with a gilded frame (or plastic version, which this is), and your're set!

I found my dream headboard but was too indecisive to buy it at first. This indecisiveness resulted in the item being sold out. So, I'm still searching for a dream headboard. Also in our room is a standing gold mirror that I have had since childhood, and a suitcase filled with letters from our wedding guests that we will open on our anniversaries through the years. I will likely be doing a blog post about the genius wedding anniversary suitcase idea that my husband and I are so grateful we had at our wedding.

In between our curtains sits a toy chest that my father built for me when I was young. Now it functions as simple storage solution for the myriad of bags my husband and I still own....even after implementing the Kon-Mari Method.

Lastly, we have two beautiful nightstand that I saved up for after eyeing on Target's website for a month. They are not only extremely functional but also foster coziness with their hardwood tops and stubby wood legs.

In short, our bedroom is still a work in progress. But I'm just happy that it's starting to get the attention it deserves. A follow up blog on the headboard will follow once I track down this elusive and pivotal piece.

Thanks for reading!
